Peak Season Readiness Check

Peak runs from Black Friday through Christmas and into the January returns tail. Brands that come through it well plan 8 to 12 weeks ahead. This check knows what today’s date is, so it tells you what should already be locked. Free to use, and no email required.

Time to Black Friday

The five workstreams

Each item carries the point in the run-up it should be locked by. Anything past its point shows as overdue against today's date.

On carrier cut-offs. This tool does not publish carrier last-posting dates, and you should be wary of any that does — UK carriers publish their own Christmas dates in the autumn and they move year to year. The pattern is consistent even before the exact dates land: economy and untracked services cut off earliest, premium tracked and guaranteed services latest, and international earlier still. Two rules follow. Confirm each carrier's dates from their own site as soon as they publish, and set the cut-off you tell customers with a buffer before the carrier's actual deadline, to absorb your own processing time. The dates at the top are calculated live, not hardcoded — Black Friday is the day after US Thanksgiving, which falls on the fourth Thursday of November — and the tool rolls forward to the next peak once the January returns tail closes.

Want peak absorbed rather than survived?

A 3PL with a scaled operation takes the volume swings, the temporary staffing and the January returns surge so you do not hire and train for them yourself.
