Pick and Pack Services UK
Per-order picking, packing and despatch from our FHDDS-accredited facility in Seaham, County Durham.
Pick and Pack Services UK
Pick and pack is the part of fulfilment your customers actually experience: the right items, packed well, out on the right service, on the day you promised. We run it from our own facility in Seaham, County Durham, for brands shipping anything from a few hundred to tens of thousands of orders a month — single-item DTC, multi-line baskets, subscription boxes, and the large or awkward goods most pick and pack companies quietly decline.
Get a QuoteWhat our pick and pack service covers
Our pick and pack service is the full sequence from your stock arriving to a labelled parcel leaving the building: goods-in and putaway, directed picking, packing and right-sizing, carrier selection and manifesting, and returns on the way back. You are buying one operation under one roof rather than assembling a warehouse, a packing team and courier accounts yourself.
Where it sits alongside our other services: ecommerce fulfilment is the same operation described end-to-end across your sales channels, and 3PL fulfilment is the wider partnership including storage and account management. If you only need picking and packing against stock you already hold with us, this is the page you want.
How an order runs through our facility
An order lands in our warehouse management system within moments of the customer paying. It is released to a picker with a directed pick list, scanned at each pick so the unit that leaves is the unit that was ordered, checked again at the pack station before the parcel is sealed, then sorted by carrier and service and manifested for collection.
The part that varies between providers is which picking method sits behind that, and we set it to your orders: single-order picking for low volumes and high-value items, batch picking for high volumes of single-line orders, zone picking where the range is wide, and wave picking timed to carrier cut-offs at peak. Our guide to how pick and pack works and what to ask a provider explains the four methods in full if you want to compare us against anyone else on this.
Large, heavy and awkward goods
Most UK pick and pack companies are built around what fits in a tote. If your product is long, heavy, fragile or simply an odd shape, you will have met the pattern: a higher handling fee, a longer lead time, or a polite no.
We take large and awkward goods through the same operation as small parcels and on the same despatch cut-off. Practically that means pallet and floor-level storage as well as shelf and bin locations, two-person handling where the weight needs it, protective packing specified per SKU rather than per order, and carrier selection that accounts for volumetric as well as actual weight — because on bulky goods the volumetric figure is usually the one you are paying.
Tell us dimensions and weight for your worst-case SKU rather than your average one. That is the item that decides whether a provider can genuinely serve you, and it is the first thing we look at.
Channels, marketplaces and FBA prep
Your stock is held as one pool and synchronised back to every connected channel, which is what stops the same unit being sold twice on two platforms. Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay and TikTok Shop connect natively, alongside thirty-odd others; if you are on something unusual we will tell you plainly whether it is a native connector or a middleware step rather than let you discover it at go-live.
For marketplace sellers we also handle prep work as part of picking rather than as a bolt-on: Amazon FBA carton prep and labelling, polybagging, barcode application, and the per-channel packing differences that otherwise turn into rejected inbound shipments.
The two commitments that actually matter
Every pick and pack company will tell you it is accurate and fast. Two things make that checkable, and we put both in writing at onboarding.
Pick accuracy, with the measurement method. A percentage on its own is marketing. We tell you what we measure it against — order lines rather than orders — how it is sampled, and what we do when we get one wrong: who spots it, who tells your customer, and who pays for the reship. Ask any provider the same and compare the answers, not the numbers.
The same-day despatch cut-off, including at peak. A cut-off that quietly slips in the last week of November is the one that costs you reviews. Ours is stated per client at onboarding and it is the same cut-off through peak, because the staffing plan is built for peak rather than adjusted when it arrives.
What you will be quoted on
There is no standard pick and pack rate, and any provider quoting one before seeing your orders is guessing. Ours is built from a first-pick fee per order, a smaller fee per additional item, storage for the stock that sits still, and packaging consumables — priced against your real profile rather than a rate card.
Five numbers get you a real quote: monthly order volume and your peak month, average items per order, stock held in pallets or bins, average parcel weight and dimensions, and your channels plus any per-order extras. Our breakdown of what UK 3PL pricing really costs works through every line, and the UK fulfilment company comparison covers the criteria beyond price.
Key Capabilities
Per-Order Picking
Barcode-scanned picking against a directed pick list, with the method matched to your order profile rather than to our warehouse.
Packing & Right-Sizing
Box or mailer matched to the product so you are not paying volumetric weight on air, with your branded inserts layered on top.
Same-Day Despatch
Orders in before the daily cut-off pick, pack and leave the same working day, on a cut-off we publish to you rather than bury in a contract.
Large & Awkward Goods
Bulky, heavy and oversized items handled in the same operation — not a separate service with a separate lead time.
Multi-Channel & Marketplace
One stock pool synchronised back to every connected channel, including Amazon FBA prep and marketplace labelling.
Returns Handling
Inspection, restock and SKU-level reporting on the way back in, so returns tell you something rather than just costing you.
Why Brands Choose Us
Our own facility, our own staff — the picking is not subcontracted to a third site you cannot visit.
Large and awkward goods run through the same operation as small parcels, on the same cut-off.
FHDDS-accredited and HMRC bonded, so overseas sellers and duty-suspended stock are handled in one place.
The despatch cut-off is given to you in writing at onboarding, and it is the same cut-off in November.
Pick accuracy is reported with the method behind it, not as a round number without a source.
